The study looked at how strategic purchasing affects how well a company does, by looking at how they negotiate and work with their suppliers. They surveyed 80 food and beverage companies in East Java, Indonesia, and found that negotiation strategy and buyer-supplier relationships play a big role in how well a company performs. Strategic purchasing also directly impacts organization performance. The way a company negotiates has a bigger impact on performance than how they work with their suppliers.
