Halal food supply chain integrity strengthened by traceability and environmental factors in Malaysia.
The article explores how adopting a traceability system and considering environmental factors can improve the integrity of Halal food supply chains in Malaysia. The researchers used questionnaires to gather data from 127 Halal food companies and found a significant link between traceability adoption and environmental factors on supply chain integrity. They discovered that producers and end users have the highest adoption rates of traceability systems, while economic and socio-cultural factors have the biggest impact on environmental factors. This study sheds light on the importance of monitoring Halal products throughout the supply chain to prevent cross-contamination issues.
