Increased yields and profits with optimized land and nutrient management for crops.
A study was conducted to see how different ways of planting soybeans and using potassium affected their yield and quality, as well as the yield of sweet corn that followed. Planting soybeans in ridges with potassium increased yield and profits compared to flat planting. Using potassium on soybeans also boosted the yield of sweet corn that came after. Applying extra fertilizer to sweet corn in the winter further increased yield and profits. Overall, using the right planting methods and nutrients led to higher yields and profits for both crops in the sequence.
