New Potato Hybrids Promise Better Yields and Disease Resistance in Yakutia.
The article discusses testing potato hybrids in Central Yakutia from 2017 to 2018. Ten early-maturing hybrids were evaluated for their quality and disease resistance. The hybrids showed good traits for consumers, such as small surface eyes and a mid-depth stolon trace. They also had high marketability and met requirements for table varieties. The hybrids had varying levels of dry matter, starch, and were free from harmful nitrates. They showed resistance to common diseases like viruses, macrosporosis, and scab. Hybrids 232 and 233 were selected for further study based on their performance.
