PEEK discs were modified with polydopamine to enhance their compatibility with bone tissue engineering. Polydopamine acted as a chemical anchor, providing hydroxyl and amino groups for various modification reactions. The PEEK-D discs showed improved biofunctionality for potential use in bone tissue engineering applications.
