The most lizard species are found in Australia, but some types are most common in the Amazon. Interestingly, having a variety of lizard habits in one place doesn't always mean more lizard species there. Instead, certain lizard types becoming very diverse in one area leads to more lizard species overall. This study helps us understand why lizards are found where they are and how their diversity is connected to their behaviors.
