A new method for improving the contrast and clarity of images has been developed. By using a combination of fuzzy clustering and discrete cosine transform, the researchers were able to enhance the details in images without causing them to look unnatural. The key innovation of this approach is the automatic calculation of how to divide the image's brightness levels for more effective contrast enhancement. By dividing the image into segments based on density function and treating each segment separately, the resulting images not only have clearer features and enhanced contrast, but also maintain a more natural appearance.
