Optimizing wastewater treatment plants for cleaner environment and healthier communities.
The study looked at how different factors affect the performance of a wastewater treatment plant in Southern Tehran. By adjusting the amount of activated sludge and dissolved oxygen, researchers found that the quality of the treated water improved significantly. The key findings showed that increasing the internal recycle rate and maintaining a certain level of dissolved oxygen led to a 75% increase in overall removal efficiency, meeting environmental standards for effluent quality.
