New soil water model revolutionizes hydrological modeling for Brazilian soils!
The study evaluated a mathematical model called Groenevelt and Grant (GRT) for predicting soil water retention in Brazilian soils. The GRT model performed similarly to other commonly used models (Brooks and Corey, van Genuchten-Mualem) in fitting the data. All models showed high correlation and good fit to the soil water retention data. Differences were mainly seen in the near-saturated range of soil moisture levels. The shape parameters of the models were related, but not directly convertible, making comparisons challenging.
