Mulching and proper irrigation boost growth and quality of hybrid crops.
A study in India looked at how mulch and irrigation affected the growth and quality of a napier bajra hybrid plant. They found that using mulch at 7.5 or 10 tons per hectare increased plant growth, yield, and nutrient uptake compared to no mulch or lower amounts. Irrigating at a ratio of 1.0 also improved plant growth and quality, similar to a higher ratio of 1.2. So, using the right amount of mulch and water can help these plants grow better and produce higher quality forage.
