Wild fungi enzymes revolutionize dye degradation and lignin biodegradation
Researchers screened wild fungi for enzymes that can break down tough dyes and lignin. They found 18 isolates with these enzymes, including some that can degrade various dyes and kraft lignin. Two isolates, AGUM004 and AGUM007, were particularly effective at degrading dyes and lignin, showing promise for environmental cleanup efforts.
