Integrated nutrients boost maize yield and quality, revolutionizing farming practices.
The researchers studied how combining mineral fertilizer with organic manure affects the growth, yield, and quality of maize plants. They tested different combinations on maize grown in sandy loam soil in Egypt over two summer seasons. The results showed that using compost with NPK and magnesium significantly increased all growth and yield parameters. The combination of compost, NPK, and magnesium gave the highest grain yield, 13.66% more than the control. Combining compost with inorganic fertilizers improved plant height, ear size, grain yield, and nutrient content in the grains. Overall, using compost with mineral fertilizers can help achieve better growth, yield, and quality of maize in sandy loam soils.
