Alcohol Consumption Linked to Reduced Sperm Motility in Men
Adult male rats were given alcohol to see how it affects their sperm. The study divided rats into two groups and gave one group alcohol for 21 days and the other for 49 days. The sperm of rats given alcohol moved less than the sperm of rats not given alcohol, but the number of sperm and their health were not affected. This suggests that drinking alcohol could make sperm swim slower without changing their numbers or health.
