The article analyzes how quality management, knowledge based on Bodies of Knowledge (BOK), and innovation are related in small and medium-sized businesses in Guayaquil. The researchers studied 180 companies, with 30% in manufacturing and 70% in commerce. They found that companies with good management practices also had strong connections between product and process management, knowledge systems, communication, and innovation. Some companies showed weaknesses in certain areas, as identified through a knowledge description model for bodies of knowledge.
