Groundwater contamination in Indian trading hub pinpointed with precision using Kriging.
Groundwater contamination in Mettupalayam, India was studied using different spatial interpolation techniques. Samples from 62 locations were collected and analyzed for Electrical Conductivity, an important irrigation parameter. The study found that Kriging was the most accurate method for predicting unknown values, followed by Inverse Distance Weightage (IDW) and Spline. This means Kriging is the best technique for mapping groundwater contamination in the area.
