Unlocking Intellectual Capital Boosts Financial Performance and Firm Value in Real Estate
The study looked at how intellectual capital affects a real estate company's financial performance and value in Indonesia. They used a measure called Value Added Intellectual Capital (VAIC) with three parts: Value Added Capital Employed (VACA), Value Added Human Capital (VAHU), and Structural Capital Value Added (STVA). They analyzed data from 102 real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2016. The results showed that properly managing intellectual capital can increase a company's profit and value, with VACA being the most important component for financial performance and firm value.
