New design theory revolutionizes IT artefact creation process.
The article discusses how Concept Knowledge (C-K) theory can be used in designing Information Technology (IT) artefacts. The researchers applied Design Science Research (DSR) methodology to study the design process of IT artefacts. They found that recording design decisions in each sub-design space can help future researchers explore different design combinations. By using C-K theory, they were able to capture the design processes in various sub-design spaces. The researchers introduced a protocol called Concept Tree to track and report the steps in artefact design. This approach was demonstrated in the design of a prototype IT artefact.
