Demand response helps balance the power grid by changing when people use electricity. This study looks at ways to manage demand response in smart grids. They created models to understand how consumers might change their electricity use based on prices or rewards. They found ways to make sure consumers don't cheat the system and how to schedule charging for electric vehicles. They also looked at how competition between power companies can work with demand response programs.
