Maximizing Window Openings Reduces Overheating and Cuts Energy Costs
The study looked at how opening windows and using thermal mass in buildings can help reduce overheating in summer. They tested different window sizes and ventilation methods in a simulated room. The results showed that opening windows more can lower the temperature inside the room. Using cross ventilation with windows open at least 20% of the area can help prevent overheating. This can save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
