Revolutionizing Agricultural Practices: Big Data to Monitor Chemical Inputs for Farmers
Small-scale farmers in hilly areas of Guangdong, China, often use too many chemicals like fertilizers and pesticides, harming the environment and food safety. A new system using technology like GIS and data analysis helps monitor and control these inputs. Over five years, it has helped thousands of farmers use safer chemicals and improved 56,000 hectares of land. By analyzing data, the system can predict trends and help farmers make better choices. This project shows that using technology can help farmers and the government work together to protect the environment and produce safer food.
