Intensive cropping boosts green pea production in Himachal Pradesh.
Intensive cropping of green peas in a dry temperate region of Himachal Pradesh was studied by testing different row spacing and seed rates. The results showed that using a row spacing of 22.5 cm with 150 kg of seed per hectare led to the highest pod yield per plot and per hectare, as well as the best benefit-cost ratio. This method outperformed the traditional recommended spacing and seed rates, showing that closer planting can increase green pea production in this region.
