New planting methods boost pigeonpea yield, revolutionizing crop productivity in India.
Planting pigeonpea in a specific way and spacing can significantly increase its growth and yield. Transplanting pigeonpea alone at a distance of 120cm x 60cm resulted in the highest grain yield. Intercropping pigeonpea with greengram or blackgram at the same spacing also showed good growth and yield. This study suggests that the method and spacing of planting, as well as intercropping with certain crops, can positively impact the productivity of pigeonpea in farming systems.
