Reducing rework and enhancing collaboration in Oil and Gas design projects
The article discusses how using a design process modeling technique called Design Structure Matrix can help improve design processes in Oil and Gas Construction Projects. By analyzing information dependencies in the design process, the researchers found that rework due to iterations, change propagation, and the need for design team collaboration are key factors affecting design efficiency. They proposed a new design process to reduce rework risk and provided recommendations to enhance the design process in terms of design schedule and collaboration.
