A study was done on wheat crops to see how different farming practices affect soil water and wheat productivity. They looked at tilling the soil, leaving crop residue, and adding nitrogen. Results showed that using crop residue helped store more water in the soil and reduced water loss. Adding more nitrogen increased wheat productivity. Crop residue had a bigger impact in dry years compared to wet years.
