The goal was to improve short-term rainfall prediction by combining two weather models using a Micro-Genetic Algorithm. By blending the strengths of both models, the researchers achieved seamless rainfall prediction from real-time data to short-term forecasts. The experiment showed that the combined model performed better in predicting rainfall for the first 1-2 hours compared to individual models, with VDAPS excelling in later hours. This approach resulted in accurate and continuous rainfall prediction without gaps between real-time and short-term forecasts.
