Malta's House Prices Soar, Impacting Property Market Dynamics.
Researchers in Malta used mortgage data to calculate house price indices from 2010 to 2017. They found that house prices grew slowly from 2011 to 2014 (1.0% to 2.0%), but increased significantly after 2015 (4.5% to 7.5%). In 2017, house prices peaked at 10.1% to 11.0%. While their indices were similar to those from the National Statistics Office and Central Bank of Malta, there were some differences due to changes in property characteristics.
