Moroccan men struggle with infertility, highlighting need for better treatment options.
This study looked at male infertility at a fertility center in Morocco. They studied 295 cases from 2017 to 2018. Most patients were around 37 years old and had been infertile for about 5.5 years. Varicocele (a common abnormality) was found in nearly 66% of patients. Sperm tests revealed issues like low sperm count (oligozoospermia) in 40% of cases and weak sperm movement (asthenozoospermia) in 37% of cases. In most cases, male infertility is due to problems with sperm quantity or quality. The study suggests that to improve treating infertility, researchers may need to look into genetic and immune factors to find additional hidden causes of infertility.
