Traditional policies in Ghana fail to address urban food security needs.
The article reviews Ghana's policies on food security, focusing on how urbanization and climate change are addressed. Traditional policies mainly cover food production and distribution, with health policies addressing nutrition and food safety. Ghana is developing a new plan that combines various policies, including food safety for exports. However, urban food security is not well addressed in current policies. The integration of food security elements is still in early stages of development in Ghana. Other low-income countries may have similar results in their policies on food security.
