Degraded Inner Mongolian Steppe shows promising recovery with restoration efforts.
Ecological restoration in the Inner Mongolian Steppe was evaluated using criteria from the Society for Ecological Restoration. Research showed that while progress has been made in understanding degradation and restoration needs, more data is needed for a complete evaluation. Grazing exclusion led to the fastest recovery, but there is still much to learn about landscape-scale processes during restoration. Long-term monitoring is crucial for a comprehensive assessment of restoration success in the Inner Mongolian Steppe.
