Forest management practices in Nepal impact tree species richness and composition. Regularly harvested community forests support more diverse tree species compared to other management regimes. High forest disturbance and no disturbance do not promote tree diversity. These community forests also protect ecologically important tree species. Active forest management at the local level is crucial for global conservation efforts. Compliance with forest management plans and capacity development of local stakeholders are recommended for sustainable forest management.
