Climate change in Australian farming reduces the benefits of carbon sequestration. The study looked at how climate change and mitigation policies affect farming in Western Australia. They found that climate change has a bigger impact on farm profits than carbon pricing for emissions. This means that climate change makes it less profitable to reforest land for carbon sequestration. In fact, climate change can even reduce the amount of carbon that can be stored through sequestration.
