Schools in Puducherry Region Face Waste Crisis, Urgent Action Needed.
The study looked at how much trash schools in Puducherry, India produce and how they manage it. They found that schools generate an average of 0.092 kg of waste per person per day, with food waste being the biggest contributor. Most of the waste is either burned or dumped on school grounds. Only a small amount is collected by the city or recycled. The researchers suggest that schools should focus on reducing waste, especially food, paper, plastic, and soil waste, to improve their waste management practices.
