China's Agricultural Tech Boost Promises Food Security and Economic Growth
The researchers focused on how improving technology in Chinese agriculture impacts the country's economy and food security using the CHINAGEM model. By analyzing the effects of new agricultural technologies in China, they found that with technological advances, agriculture output grows while employment decreases. Additionally, production costs go down, and investment goes up. The study used a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model to understand how changes in technology affect the whole economy, leading to more food and economic growth in China.
