Gas drainage in large boreholes with variable diameters has been improved to prevent coal and gas outbursts. By using specialized drilling tools, the gas drainage radius and efficiency were significantly increased compared to traditional methods. The new approach resulted in a 1.84 times larger effective gas drainage radius and a 1.58 times improvement in gas drainage value.
