WTO Reforms Threaten to Disrupt Global Trade Landscape
The World Trade Organization (WTO) was created to set rules for international trade. It allows for different types of trade agreements and aims to prevent discrimination between member countries. Regional trade agreements can sometimes go beyond WTO rules, which may affect global trade liberalization. The question is whether these regional agreements will align with the multilateral standards set by the WTO or create more diversity in trade approaches. This paper examines the impact of regional trade agreements on global trade liberalization and the strength of the WTO.
