Human activities causing drastic decrease in water and sediment in Yellow River.
The amount of water and sand in the Lower Yellow River has been decreasing over time due to human activities like soil conservation and water diversion. The decrease in rainfall from 1956 to 2000 has also played a role in reducing the river's flow. By analyzing data from four hydrologic stations, it was found that the quantity of water and sand in the river has been decreasing in a linear trend with occasional jumps. This information can help guide future control of the Yellow River and human activities in the area.
