New Equation Improves Accuracy of River Discharge Calculation in Tidal Rivers.
The study aimed to improve the accuracy of calculating river discharge in low water levels in a tidal river. Researchers developed a new equation using river level and differences between sea level and river level to better predict river discharge. The equation was tested at a gaging station in Taehwa river and was found to be more accurate than the existing method.
