Seasonal Study Reveals Improved Water Purification in Living-Water Gardens.
The study compared how well a constructed wetland in a Living-Water Garden in Chengdu cleaned wastewater in spring and summer. They found that the wetland removed more nitrogen and phosphorus in summer than in spring. Nitrogen removal was better on the left side of the wetland than the right, but there was no difference in phosphorus removal between the two sides. This shows that the wetland's efficiency in cleaning water changes with the seasons.
