Sugarcane and Rice Waste Transformed into Affordable Clean Fuel for Homes
Researchers investigated making solid fuel by compressing sugarcane bagasse and rice bran together. They tested different pressures and ratios of the two materials to see how it affected the quality of the briquettes. The process improved the density and reduced moisture content of the briquettes. The natural components of the materials helped bind the briquettes together. However, the combustion properties of the fuel didn't change much, so further improvements may be needed for industrial use. Overall, the briquettes met standards for domestic fuel use.
