Straw covering wheat fields in Jingmen city can boost soil potassium levels, improve soil quality, and increase water content and temperature regulation. By using rice straw, the soil's seed yield and weight significantly increased, leading to a higher wheat yield. Most of the potassium from the straw was absorbed by the soil within 4 months, making it a useful method to address potassium deficiency in soil.
