China's environmental regulations hinder regional innovation output, impacting sustainable development.
The study looked at how environmental rules in China affect innovation in different regions. They used data from 2006 to 2016 and a special math model to analyze the connection. The results showed that environmental rules can lower innovation in China overall. But in the eastern part, these rules can spread and affect nearby regions. In the central area, the rules don't have a big impact. And in the west, the results are similar to the whole country. The study suggests different ways to improve environmental rules and encourage innovation for a sustainable future.
