The researchers studied the tree composition and ecological structure of Akak forest area to see what kinds of trees are there and how they are growing. They looked at 49 logged stumps over 5 years and found a total of 5239 trees from 384 species. The family Fabaceae had the most species and regeneration potential. Different dominant tree species were found in different years. The forest is rich in trees with smaller diameters, and the structure suggests it is growing towards a mature state.
