Governments Urged to Fulfill Obligations for Citizens' Right to Health
The right to health means everyone should have access to good health and healthcare. Governments have a duty to protect and promote this right. Many countries, including the United States, have agreed to follow human rights conventions that include the right to health. But some countries don't do enough to make sure people can actually get good healthcare. There are still problems to solve, like not enough support from governments and a weak international human rights system. Even countries that have promised to protect the right to health don't always spend enough money or use human rights rules when making health policies.
