The goal of the study was to find a better way to identify edges in images for clearer pictures. The researchers used a new quantum Canny edge detection algorithm that works with quantum bits instead of regular bits. This allowed for more precise edge detection. The results showed that the quantum Canny edge detection method could find more edges in images compared to the traditional method, with an average increase of 4.05%.
