ASEAN's Struggle for Economic Unity Threatens Regional Stability
The article discusses why ASEAN has not achieved full political-economic integration after more than five decades. The research shows that ASEAN's integration is growing but faces challenges like economic dependence on foreign trade and differences among member countries. These obstacles have hindered ASEAN from reaching full integration, and it is now working towards a common market through stages like Preferential Trade and limited Customs Union. The study used a qualitative approach to analyze these issues.
