Grazing in Alpine Meadows Alters Plant Species Distribution and Soil Properties.
The researchers studied how grazing affects plant communities and soil in an alpine meadow. They found that different levels of grazing changed the types of dominant plants in the area. As grazing intensity increased, plant richness, importance value, and biomass decreased significantly. Soil factors like compaction and water content were also affected by grazing. Soil compaction was the most important factor influencing plant distribution under grazing. Overall, soil properties explained 30.5% of plant distribution, with physical properties having the highest impact.
