The study looked at improving irrigation for crops in Australia and New Zealand by using smart technology to deliver water where it's needed. Instead of watering the whole field the same way, the researchers developed a system that senses weather, soil conditions, and plant needs to decide where and when to water. This system can automatically analyze data and figure out the best spots to water, reducing the manual effort and costs of traditional methods. The researchers tested this smart irrigation approach in horticulture crops in two locations and found it helped make irrigation more efficient and effective for the crops.
