Carp Farming Breakthrough Boosts Nutrition for Millions in Iraq
The researchers studied how common carp raised in pools in Kirkuk, Iraq, grow and measure up. They checked the body weight, total length, body depth, and fork length of male and female common carps. The average values were similar between males and females. For body weight, it was around 2 kg, total length was about 45-46 cm, body depth was approximately 14 cm, and fork length was close to 38 cm. They also calculated the condition factor, which was around 2 for both male and female carps. Overall, the male and female carps in the study displayed similar body measurements and condition factors.
