Slaughterhouse Waste Transformed into Clean Water, Restoring Nigerian Environment
The researchers studied how to remove solids from wastewater in a Nigerian slaughterhouse using waste stabilization ponds. They tested different retention times and found that the ponds removed 97% of suspended solids, 92% of dissolved solids, and 93% of total solids. The treated water was much cleaner than the untreated water. The results showed that the ponds were effective at cleaning the wastewater.
