Emission sources directly impact pollution levels in nearby areas.
Particulate matter from human activities can be found in the air, with different sizes and compositions. The amount and type of particles in an area are affected by where they come from and how they spread. By studying the particles in an area, we can learn about the pollution there. This study looked at emissions and particle levels near an industrial plant. The results show that the amount of particles at the source directly affects the levels of particles in the nearby area.
